As result of hostile shelling of Kherson on Wednesday, six civilians wounded – prosecutor's office

KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Six civilians were wounded as a result of shelling by the invaders of Kherson and the destruction of the administrative building on Wednesday, the Office of the Prosecutor General (PGO) said.

"On December 14, 2022, the Russian armed forces, once again, violating the norms of international humanitarian law, shelled the city of Kherson. Six civilians received injuries of varying severity, they are provided with qualified medical assistance," the agency said in a Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to the prosecutor’s office, an administrative building in the central part of Kherson was significantly destroyed, windows in residential buildings were also shattered by the blast wave, and a fire started in one of the private households as a result of a shell hitting the roof.

"According to preliminary information, the invaders fired at the city from multiple launch rocket systems from the temporarily occupied territory. To ensure a proper investigation of war crimes, prosecutors, together with police investigators, are conducting the necessary investigative actions," the PGO said.

Under the procedural leadership of Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pretrial investigation was launched in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
