By KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has urged not to forget the feat of liquidators of the consequences of the Chornobyl accident.
“Thirty-six years ago, the liquidators of the consequences of the accident at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant protected not only Ukraine, but also the whole world, the future of all of us. Today, our defenders protect our future again. This year, Russia has created new threats that could surpass even that most horrible accident,” he said on the Telegram channel.
“We will never forget the feat of the liquidators and we will not allow anyone to neglect the price that Ukraine and the world paid for the liquidation of the consequences of the Chornobyl accident. Eternal respect to the heroes of Chornobyl for their feat! Gratitude to everyone who brings our victory closer!” the President added.
On December 14, Ukraine celebrates the day of honoring the participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chornobyl accident.
