Ukrainian govt team reaches agreements on EUR 1.5 bln of assistance during visit to France – Shmyhal

KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said that the government’s team reached agreements on EUR 1.5 billion of assistance during a visit to France.

"Around EUR 1.5 billion of assistance. These are the results of the government team’s visit to France. During the conference "Standing with the Ukrainian People," EUR 1 billion were raised. Some of them in equipment that will be transferred in the near future to restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. There are also a number of agreements for more than EUR 530 million for the development of the digital sphere and rapid restoration of the infrastructure," he said on the Telegram channel.

Together with partners, representatives of the Ukrainian government also agreed on a common vision of military risk insurance for business, as well as the supply of air defense systems by France.

"The key issue is nuclear safety. With IAEA Director General [Rafael] Grossi and President [of France Emmanuel] Macron, we are gradually moving in this direction. We thank the President of France for organizing the conference and strong support for Ukraine in the struggle for freedom and democracy," the prime minister said.
