Latest video surveillance equipment installed in Chornobyl zone – Nebytov

KYIV. Dec 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Chornobyl nuclear power plant zone was equipped with new video surveillance equipment for Ukraine, allowing even at night from a considerable distance to record the movements of objects commensurate with a person, said head of the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv region Andriy Nebytov.

"Separately, we are working on installing special cameras and sound sensors that will protect power plants. At a certain distance they will detect objects like a drone or a missile and notify the air defense forces about them. This is also a new initiative that we are implementing on our platform," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine quoted Nebytov as saying on Thursday.

"We are following the path of development, because the capital is behind us, and this is where security innovations take place," said the chief police officer of the metropolitan region.
