Germany to provide EUR 130 mln to Ukraine Energy Support Fund by late 2022 – embassy

KYIV. Dec 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action is providing additional EUR 100 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, the German Embassy in Ukraine has reported.

"Another massive attack by Russia on Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure today. International partners and Germany stands with Ukraine in these dark hours," the embassy said on Twitter.

"The fund will receive EUR 130 million in total from Germany before the end of the year for urgent needs of Ukrainian energy companies," the German diplomatic mission said.

As reported, at the Standing with Ukrainian People conference held on December 13 in Paris, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said that Germany would provide EUR 50 million in assistance for the winter period for Ukraine, and in total, following the results of the conference, EUR 415 was announced in aid to the country’s energy sector suffering from Russian strikes.
