Dec 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine’s power system continues to recover after the missile attack of the Russian invaders on December 16, as a result of which at least nine facilities were damaged and generation of nuclear power plants was limited, nuclear units are gaining power now, PrJSC NPC Ukrenergo reports.
"As of December 17, Ukraine’s power system continues to recover after the ninth enemy missile attack. The process of bringing units of nuclear power plants, with the exception of the occupied Zaporizhia NPP, to the level of planned capacity is underway. Thermal power plants are gradually restoring work, and hydroelectric power plants continue to operate on schedule," the company said in a report on Saturday.
According to it, the electricity deficit remains significant due to the missile attack, and consumption limits have been set for all regional energy companies.
The company indicated that emergency recovery work is underway at power facilities damaged by shelling. At the same time, the condition of the grids is complicated by weather conditions – rain with snow, frost and strong wind, resulting in equipment icing.
Repair teams work around the clock, Ukrenergo stressed.
They also noted that the state of emergency, introduced exclusively for operations on the market, was completed on December 16 at 19.15, and the market is now operating normally.
