By KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Russia continues the practice of artificially limiting the registration of Grain Initiative vessels for inspection, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (AMPU) has reported.
"In the Bosphorus, 92 vessels are waiting for an inspection check by the JCC [Joint Coordination Centre]. The queue continues to grow due to the artificial restriction on the part of the Russian Federation of registration for inspection. For example, out of 65 declared vessels, only three were registered by the aggressor for the current day. Such the situation leads to the restriction of the work of Ukrainian ports and to the under-export of products by at least 3 million tonnes per month," the authority said in a Facebook post on Saturday.
According to the USPA, over the past two days, four vessels with 145,000 tonnes of wheat for Asia left the ports of Big Odesa.
"The ports of Big Odesa are now working at half strength. The terrorist country is destroying our infrastructure, blackmailing us with darkness and cold, and the world with hunger… We are working further to double the intensity of work and expand the grain initiative," the USPA quoted USPA Head Oleksiy Vostrikov.
As of December 17, 2022, 23 vessels are under processing in Ukrainian ports for loading 734,000 tonnes of Ukrainian foodstuffs.
In addition, three more vessels are moving along the Grain Corridor to load 166,000 tonnes of foodstuffs.
Since August 1, 558 vessels have left the ports of Big Odesa, exporting 14 million tonnes of Ukrainian food to the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa.
