Ukraine returns three more children deported to Russia – ombudsman

KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine managed to return three more children who were separated from their parents and taken under the pretext of "recovery" in August 2022 to the Mishka children’s camp in Russia in the city of Gelendzhik, Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said.

"Three more children returned home, who were separated from their parents and, under the pretext of ‘healing,’ were taken to the Mishka children’s camp in the city of Gelendzhik, Russia, in August 2022. It all happened during the temporary occupation of Kharkiv region," Lubinets said in Telegram.

As he noted, logistically, the return of the children took place with the help of the Save Ukraine Center for Mutual Assistance charitable organization.

At the moment, it is known about 13,613 deported Ukrainian children in Russia.

As reported, on December 19, they managed to return to Ukraine a 16-year-old teenager illegally deported to Russia from Donetsk region, who lived near Mariupol before the full-scale invasion. In connection with the death of his parents, he was sent to live with another family.
