Up to 11,000 enemy personnel at Belarusian training grounds – AFU General Staff

KYIV. Dec 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – There are currently up to 11,000 enemy servicemen and more than 400 pieces of weapons and military equipment at Belarusian training grounds, Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Brigadier General Oleksiy Hromov has said.

"The enemy continues to improve its level of training, they conduct training at Belarusian training grounds, where at present there are up to 11,000 personnel and more than 400 pieces of weapons and military equipment of the occupying country," Hromov said at a briefing at the Military Media Center on Thursday.

According to him, today the grouping of Russian troops deployed in Belarus, Bryansk and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation is 2 times less than what was used for the attack on Kyiv in February – 22,000 versus 45,500 invaders.

"Even if all combat Belarusian military units from the ground forces, special operations forces are involved, the total grouping of the aggressor’s troops will number about 30,000 people, which is still less than those who participated in a full-scale invasion," Hromov said.

In addition, the General Staff added that the Russian Federation removed from Belarusian territory all stocks of ammunition for artillery systems and multiple rocket launchers, which were created in the interests of the Russian Armed Forces on the eve of the attack on Ukraine.
