Ukraine-Luxembourg Business Club to hold forum in Luxembourg on recovery, European integration of Ukraine

KYIV. Dec 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Ukraine-Luxembourg Business Club (ULBC) on January 31, in cooperation with partners and with the participation of representatives of the governments of the two countries, will hold a forum to discuss the opportunities and challenges of restoring Ukraine and its integration into the EU.

"Although the war in Ukraine is far from over, planning has begun for the post-war period. Ukraine plans a structural transformation that is unprecedented in modern history," the organizers of the forum say.

"Ukraine’s reconstruction and renewal presents singular opportunities for investors. It also presents unique risks. For all the hoped-for upside, post-war investment in Ukraine raises serious commercial, legal and technical questions, as well as issues of coordination with public financiers and policymakers," they say.

"With its financial market infrastructure that supports the asset management industry globally, and its range of European institutions essential to the public aspects of Ukrainian reconstruction, Luxembourg is ideally positioned for this discussion," the ULBC believes.

The forum will also bring together civil society organizations, foreign direct investors, asset managers, legal advisors and consultants, as well as multilateral financial institutions and sponsors.

According to the organizers, among the partners of the event are the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, ArcelorMittal, the European Investment Bank, and the international depository Clearstream.

It is expected that discussions will also take place at a practical level in order to achieve tangible progress in more important areas of restoring the Ukrainian economy as quickly and as possible. Seminars are planned in such project areas as, inter alia, infrastructure, technology, agriculture and food, cybersecurity, education, capital markets and foreign exchange regulation, rule of law and EU accession, ESG, as well as coordination of public and private financing.
