By KYIV. Dec 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputies of local councils approved 1,425 local budgets as of December 30, 2022, which is 89% of the total (1,597), the Ministry of Finance announced on Friday.
According to its data, 24 regional budgets and the budget of Kyiv, 104 district budgets out of 119, as well as 1,286 budgets of territorial communities were approved (152 were not approved).
The Ministry of Finance said that as of today, only the local budgets of Dnipropetrovsk and Zhytomyr regions have been fully approved –101 and 71 budgets, respectively.
According to the published data, the smallest share of approved local budgets is in Donetsk and Zaporizhia regions: 54.8% in each region. From 60% to 80% of local budgets have been approved in Kherson and Ternopil regions, from 80% to 90% in Rivne, Chernihiv, Sumy and Odesa regions, while in other regions the budgets have been approved by 90% or more.
According to the report, for the full functioning of public sector institutions, the continuous provision of services to consumers, local governments need to speed up the process of approving local budgets and submit information to the Ministry of Finance using the LOGICA information and analytical system.
