Ukraine, Russia fighting for control over P66 highway to Kreminna – British intelligence

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Russian and Ukrainian forces have likely been fighting over the past five days for control over the P66 highway north of the Russian-held city of Kreminna in Luhansk region, according to a defense intelligence report tweeted by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland’s Ministry of Defense on Monday.

"The P66 is a key supply route for the northern section of Russia’s Donbas front from Belgorod region of Russia. Its use has been disrupted by Ukrainian artillery since October, but if Ukraine were able to secure the route, if would highly likely further undermine Russia’s defense of Kreminna," the report notes.

We are talking about a section of the P66 highway between the cities of Kreminna and Svatove, Luhansk region. Both cities remain under occupation, but are located close to the contact line.
