Ukraine keeps ban on export of natural gas, fuel oil, rock salt for 2023, suspends export of anthracite, softens export of coking coal

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Government of Ukraine has maintained for 2023 zero quotas for the export of natural gas of Ukrainian origin, liquid fuel (fuel oil), edible salt, gold and silver in raw or semi-finished form, as well as in form of powder.

Relevant resolution No. 1466 of December 27 on the list of goods, the export and import of which is subject to licensing, was published by the Cabinet of Ministers on its website on Monday.

According to it, quotas for the export of anthracite, coal and briquettes, pellets and similar types of solid fuels, as well as waste and scrap of precious metals, which, according to the latest version of a similar decree for 2022, amounted to 100,000 tonnes and 2 tonnes, respectively, have been also reset to zero.

In addition, the government has extended the ban on the export of firewood, wood chips or shavings until January-February 2023, after which the export of these goods is removed from the list of licensed goods.

At the same time, the size of the quota for the export of coking coal (only K grade) has been increased to 600,000 tonnes from 200,000 tonnes in a similar resolution in 2022.

In addition, the ban on the export of buckwheat has been lifted, but it will be subject to licensing.
