Ukrainian Startup Fund transferred from Finance Ministry to Ministry of Digital Transformation

KYIV. Jan 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at the end of 2022 decided to transfer the integral property complex of the Innovations Development Fund (Ukrainian Startup Fund) to the management of the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

"The Startup Fund from under the Ministry of Finance goes under the Ministry of Digital Transformation. We are starting to build institutions that, I hope, will work for years, and we will become Israel or even more progressive in this regard," Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov commented on this decision in the new issue of OK Talk by Kyivstar President Oleksandr Komarov.

According to him, in 2022 the Ministry of Digital Transformation launched some projects, especially in military-tech, and saw how to work with them. As an example, Fedorov cited fundraising and the creation of kamikaze boats.

"All these projects have shown that we are on the right track and our next step is to expand the goals of the ministry to develop the digital economy and specifically increase the part of military-tech," Fedorov said.

"After launching various pilots and testing various hypotheses, we understand how to build an ecosystem that can develop military-tech in Ukraine. The export potential is incredible, but, first of all, we need to win the war," the official emphasized.

Corresponding order No. 1204-r of the Cabinet of Ministers dated December 27, 2022 on the transfer of the property complex of the Innovations Development Fund from the management of the Ministry of Finance to the management of the Ministry of Digital Transformation was posted on the governmental website.
