Digital Transformation Ministry, eQualitie supply 29 providers with 172 SBL batteries

KYIV. Jan 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Digital Transformation Ministry of Ukraine jointly with the Canadian digital security organization eQualitie have handed SBL batteries over to Internet service providers.

The ministry said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday the use of these batteries will ensure that thousands of Ukrainians will have access to the Internet for ten to twelve hours during power outages.

"The Digital Transformation Ministry jointly with eQualitie have passed 172 ABL batteries to Internet service providers to help them power the Internet networks during power outages and ensure that people will stay in touch with their relatives and be aware of the latest news. Twenty-nine providers in all regions of Ukraine received the batteries," it said.

Mostly these are Internet service providers in Kharkiv, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions, which suffer the most serious problems with connection to the Internet during power outages.

The ministry thanked DEPS and the Association of Rights Holders and Content Providers for their assistance in the project implementation.
