Danilov about German Leopard tanks: They definitely to be there

KYIV. Jan 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NDSC) Oleksiy Danilov, speaking about the possibility of transferring Leopard tanks to Ukraine by Germany, said it was a matter of time and they "definitely will be."

"If Mr. Scholz [Chancellor of Germany] wants the Germans to fight near Berlin and near Stuttgart on German tanks with the Russians, then he can further continue such a game, conduct social research, whether we need to give tanks or not need to give," Danilov said in an interview on the Rada television channel.

According to him, the challenges for Europe are huge, and those countries that understand this help Ukraine by 150%.

"Those countries that are gradually beginning to see the light that this [aid] needs to be dealt with, they also started this movement. I thank the Germans and the French that they have changed their point of view and today help is coming. It is increasing. The issue of tanks is a matter of time. They will definitely be there," he said.

Earlier, the Social Democratic Party of Germany said Germany does not intend to supply Ukraine with Leopard tanks due to the fact that this is done in coordination with other NATO partners, but will continue to support Ukraine with other types of modern weapons.
