Shmyhal instructes departments to develop mechanisms for effective provision of services to veterans

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal instructed the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Defense to develop the necessary mechanisms for the effective provision of services to veterans.

"Veteran policy this year has been identified as one of the key areas of government work. Ways to implement it were discussed today at a meeting with representatives of ministries and parliament. The basis of state policy in this area is to create opportunities for people returning from war," Shmyhal said in Telegram.

According to him, the meeting discussed the implementation of key needs: economic independence (continuation of a military career, retraining, employment support, support for veteran businesses), housing and medical services.

"We must make sure that veterans receive all public services as simply and quickly as possible. Therefore, I gave the task to the Ministry of Veterans, the Ministry of Social Policy, together with the Ministry of Defense, to create the necessary mechanisms," Shmyhal said.
