Danilov regards Putin's instructions on 'Christmas ceasefire' as lie and hypocrisy

KYIV. Jan 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov called hypocritical the calls of the Russian side to the Ukrainian side for a ceasefire on the Christian holiday of Christmas.

"What does a flock of small Kremlin devils-Iblis have to do with the Christian holiday of Christmas? Who will believe the abomination that kills children, shells maternity hospitals, tortures prisoners? A ceasefire regime? Lies and hypocrisy," Danilov said on Twitter on Thursday.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to introduce a ceasefire from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7.

The document, called "instructions," also contains an appeal to the Ukrainian side to declare a ceasefire and give the opportunity to attend services on Christmas Eve, as well as on the Day of the Nativity of Christ.
