Four dry cargo vessels to deliver Ukrainian food to the UK, Turkey, Egypt, Sri Lanka

NEW YORK (UN). Jan 9 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Four dry cargo vessels with wheat, corn, peas and sunflower seeds left the Ukrainian ports on Sunday, the Joint Coordinating Centre (JCC) has reported.

"On January 8, four ships left Ukrainian ports, transporting a total of 100,900 tonnes of grain and other food under the Black Sea Grain Initiative," the JCC said.

The Leo I ship will deliver 49,500 tonnes of wheat to Sri Lanka, the True Harmony ship – 25,900 tonnes of corn to Egypt. Dry cargo ship MKK 1 will transport 13,000 tonnes of peas to Turkey, dry cargo ship Bomustafa O will transport 12,500 tonnes of sunflower seeds to the UK.

Two dry cargo ships are also heading to the ports of Ukraine, which passed through the humanitarian corridor on Sunday.

"As of January 8, the total tonnage of grain and other foodstuffs exported from the three Ukrainian ports is 16,945,661 tonnes. A total of 1,262 voyages (629 inbound and 633 outbound) have been enabled so far," the JCC said.
