Ukraine's Armed Forces repel enemy attacks in area of 13 settlements – General Staff

KYIV. Jan 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The enemy is conducting offensive operations in Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Lyman axes, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled enemy attacks in the area of 13 settlements of Donbas, the General Staff reported.

"The enemy is conducting offensive operations on the Bakhmut, Avdiyivka and Lyman axes, and is trying to improve the tactical position in the Kupiansk axes. Russian invaders concentrate efforts on capturing Donetsk region, but have no success," according to the report on Facebook.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks in the vicinities of Bilohorivka, Chervopopivka, Kuzmine (Luhansk region); Soledar, Bilohorivka, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klischiyivka, Vodiane, Kurdiumivka, Mayorsk, Maryinka, and Pobeda (Donetsk region).

"During the past day, Ukrainian Air Force made 18 air strikes on areas where the enemy’s personnel, weapons and military equipment are concentrated, as well as three strikes on the positions of its anti-aircraft missile systems. Ukrainian forces shot down two enemy reconnaissance UAVs of the Orlan type," the General Staff reported.

Ukrainian missile and artillery troops hit one command post, five concentrations of enemy troops and military equipment, and two positions of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems.

The enemy continues to suffer losses. So, in the first week of 2023, about 120 occupiers were brought to the hospital in Novotroitske, Kherson region.

It is also noted that the occupiers continue to carry out measures to mobilize the local population in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. So, in Horlivka, Donetsk region, on January 6 of this year, during another raid, up to 30 people were mobilized, four of them with disabilities. After two days of so-called training at the Vostochny training ground, they were sent to one of the military units of the Russian occupation forces.
