By LVIV. Jan 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Polish President Andrzej Duda has called on partner countries to strengthen support for Ukraine.
"Ukraine needs more support. This war will continue. Russia will continue this war, take systematic actions to destroy Ukraine and its infrastructure. The occupiers must be stopped. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are doing a lot, protecting their country. In order for them to continue to do this effectively and further, they need modern weapons. And it should be handed over to Ukraine," Duda said at a press conference with the heads of Ukraine and Lithuania in Lviv on Wednesday.
Against this background, the Polish president expressed gratitude to the United States for its powerful military and financial support to Ukraine, calling on other partner countries to join and strengthen it.
"It is important that other countries join this support. It is important that there is an understanding that Ukraine must repel Russian aggression in the 21st century. Aggression must be stopped. In this aspect, NATO and other countries should support Ukraine. We call for assistance to Ukraine," Duda urged, adding that Poland, for its part, will continue to support all measures to provide assistance to the Ukrainian side.
