KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada plans to provide fines between UAH 1,020 and UAH 8,500 for violating the procedure and rules for using Ukrainian airspace when operating unmanned aerial vehicles.

Government bill No. 8186 was supported at the first reading by 232 MPs at a plenary session on Wednesday, Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Holos parliamentary faction, said.

The bill proposes that the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine is amended, namely, Article 111 is supplemented with new rules on establishing administrative responsibility for violating the procedure and rules for using the airspace of Ukraine when operating an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) and committing such an offense repeatedly within a year.

So, violations, including the creation of radio interference or UAVs of law enforcement agencies while ensuring public order and security, countering offenses, and protecting human rights and freedoms, can result in a fine of 60 to 400 non-taxable minimum citizens’ incomes, that is, from UAH 1,020 up to UAH 6,800. At the same time, for the repeated commission of any of these violations during the year, a fine from 400 to 500 non-taxable minimum incomes (UAH 6,800-8,500) with confiscation of the drone will be imposed.
