KYIV. May 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at a meeting with a delegation from the state of Utah (the United States), called on U.S. businesses to invest in Ukraine, helping to create jobs, the presidential press service has said.
“It is important for us to create new jobs. If you can help with this, please do it. This is also a contribution to our victory,” Zelenskyy said.
He said Ukraine needs the support of private business to rebuild households, schools and universities destroyed by the Russian aggressor, as well asenergy infrastructure destroyed by Russian missile terror.
“I urge you to invest in the Ukrainian agricultural industry and the IT sector. Such cooperation will be mutually beneficial,” Zelenskyy said.
During the meeting, the president briefed the representatives of Utah on the situation in Ukraine. The parties exchanged views on steps that government representatives can take to help Ukraine win.
The head of state said he would welcome the deepening of bilateral cooperation with U.S. business in the field of arms production and creation of new defense technologies.
“We are open for this. We invite you,” Zelenskyy said.
