Ukraine’s Dpty FM Melnyk may become Ambassador to Brazil

KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Brazil has approved the candidacy of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Melnyk for the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine.

“The Brazilian government is pleased to announce that it has granted Mr. Andriy Melnyk an agreman for appointment to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Brazil,” a statement posted on the agency’s website reads.

Earlier, on May 10, Melnyk held a meeting in Kyiv with chief Adviser of the Special Advisory Service of the Brazilian Presidential Administration Celso Amorim.

As reported, on July 11, 2022, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Andriy Melnyk from the post of Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany. Melnyk has served as Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany since 2014.
