KYIV. May 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The insurance companies that are member of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine (MTIBU) in January-March 2023 settled 61.1% of claims for property damage within 60 days from the date of the accident, which is 1.4% less than compared to the same period a year earlier and 2.1% less than in the fourth quarter of 2022.
According to a report on the MTIBU’s website, the share of claims settled within 90 days in the first quarter of 2023 increased from 75.7% to 79.6%, up to 120 days – from 83.1% to 86%, in 360 days – decreased from 98% to 95.1% compared to the same period a year earlier.
The MTIBU reports that the largest number of payments within 60 days is made by the insurance companies PZU Ukraine – 80%, Universalna – 78.5%, ARX – 77.5%, Kniazha VIG – 77.4%, VUSO – 77.3%, TAS – 76.3%, Arsenal Insurance – 76.3%, INGO Ukraine – 76.1%, Guarantee – 73.8%, Krayina – 73.6%, UNIQA – 70%.
The smallest share of payments under OSAGO for up to 60 days for January-March 2023 is made by Etalon – 1.6%, Motor-Garant – 3.2%.
The MTIBU also reported that in the first quarter of 2023, the bureau received 130 complaints about the actions of its members, which is 2.3 times less than in the same period a year earlier.
The MTIBU is the only association of insurers that provide compulsory insurance of vehicle owners’ civil liability for damage caused to third parties. As of March 2023, its members are 39 insurance companies, the license of five companies have been revoked.
