By KYIV. May 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Most of the missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles used by the Russian invaders to attack Kyiv on Tuesday night were destroyed by air defense forces, Commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Nayev said.
“This night was the eighth air attack on Kyiv since the beginning of May. The enemy attacked in different directions, using all the resources available to him, from drones to cruise missiles. The density of fire on the capital was maximum, but most of the targets were detected and destroyed thanks to the multi-level separation principle of air defense,” Nayev was quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the Joint Forces on Tuesday.
According to him, “everything is under complete control” in the northern operational zone. “Commanders of groupings of troops and commanders of subunits are doing everything to make it impossible for the enemy to pass both through the airspace and through the border itself. We continue to build up defensive positions along the state border line every day. Our defense is being strengthened every day. Work on the security of our state continues without stopping,” Nayev added.
