KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny took part in negotiations between U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III, Supreme Commander of NATO Allied Forces Europe and Commander of U.S. Armed Forces in Europe, General Christopher Cavoli and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Monday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
“Reported on the situation at the front. We discussed in detail general plans in the short, medium and long term. We separately focused on the needs and technological solutions that will strengthen our capabilities on the battlefield. We continue to work on the basis of openness and maximum trust,” Zaluzhny wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also expressed gratitude to his partners and the American people for their support and assistance to Ukraine.
“Grateful to our partners and the entire American people for their help and support to Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression,” he wrote.
As previously reported, today U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit, held a meeting with the President of Ukraine, and took part in negotiations, in particular, with the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff, and the Minister of Strategic Industries and other heads of defense departments of Ukraine.
