By KYIV. Dec 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – At night, the air defense destroyed 18 out of 19 Shahed-type attack UAVs that attacked Ukraine, the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Wednesday morning.
“On the night of December 20, 2023, the enemy attacked with shock UAVs of the Shahed type from the occupied Crimea [launch areas are Chauda and Balaklava]. In total, 19 Shaheds were launched, 18 of which were destroyed by the forces and means of the Air Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine within Odesa, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kyiv, Chernihiv and Kirovohrad regions,” the AFU said on the Telegram channel.
In addition, the enemy struck two anti-aircraft guided missiles from the S-300 air defense system from Belgorod region of the Russian Federation on Kharkiv region. According to preliminary estimates, there were no casualties.
