By KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On December 12, servicemen of the aggressor country launched regular artillery strikes on Kherson and its suburbs.
"According to the investigation, on December 12, 2022, the servicemen of the aggressor country from the temporarily occupied territory launched regular artillery strikes on the city of Kherson and suburban settlements. As a result of the shelling of a residential microdistrict of the city, a woman was killed, four civilians were injured to varying degrees," the department said in the telegram channel on Monday.
According to the prosecutor’s office, several apartments in one of the high-rise buildings caught fire from the aimed hit of shells on the houses.
"According to preliminary data, the shelling was carried out from multiple launch rocket systems and artillery," the prosecutor’s office said.
Under the procedural leadership of Kherson regional prosecutor’s office, a pretrial investigation was launched in criminal proceedings on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
In order to ensure a proper investigation of war crimes, prosecutors, together with police investigators, carry out the necessary investigative actions.
