KYIV. May 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – As a result of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, 229 children were killed, more than 421 children were injured, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
"As of the morning of May 16, 2022, more than 650 children suffered in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to official data from juvenile prosecutors, 229 children were killed and more than 421 were injured. The most children suffered in Donetsk region – 140, Kyiv region – 116, Kharkiv region – 100, Chernihiv region – 68, Kherson region – 48, Luhansk region – 45, Mykolaiv region – 44, Zaporizhia region – 28, Sumy region – 17, in Kyiv city – 16, Zhytomyr region – 15", the message published in the telegram channel says on Monday.
These figures are not final, since work is underway to establish them in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
On May 14, a 15-year-old boy was wounded as a result of shelling by the enemy in the village of Lebiazhe, Chuhuivsky district, Kharkiv region.
It became known that on March 8, a 15-year-old girl died as a result of an air strike by Russian troops on the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region. And on March 18, a 16-year-old teenager died due to the shelling of the city by the invaders.
Due to the bombing and shelling of Ukrainian cities and villages by the Russian Armed Forces, 1,748 educational institutions were damaged, 144 of them were completely destroyed.
