BAKU. Dec 18 (Interfax) – Azerbaijan boosted export volumes of declared gas 30.7% year-on-year to about 24.38 billion cubic meters in 11M 2023, the State Customs Committee (SCC) told Interfax.
Azerbaijan exported declared gas totaling $12.776 billion in 11M 2023, a decline of 13.7% year-on-year, with the share of declared gas accounting for 40.5% in the country’s export structure versus 41.8% the previous year.
The SCC continues not to publish a breakdown of the countries to which Azerbaijan supplies gas. The SCC maintains export statistics based on declaration, which is provided after the actual sale of gas, and not when it is being pumped through pipelines.
Azerbaijan pumps its gas via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) to consumers in Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, as well as to Romania since January 1, 2023, and to Hungary. Azerbaijan also exports its gas to Turkey via the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), and to Georgia via the SCP and the Gazimagomed-Gazakh gas pipeline.
