Beleniuk asks to exclude him from National Olympic Committee

KYIV. Nov 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Olympic champion and deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the faction Servant of the People party Zhan Beleniuk asks to exclude him from the membership of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).

"I can’t afford to stay in such a NOC for a long time," Beleniuk said on Facebbok and attached his statement about the exclusion from the membership of the NOC.

As reported, on November 17, Gutzeit became the new president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine (NOC). According to the results of the voting held during the 37th General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine, Gutzeit won 83.6% of the votes.

In addition, the media learned that the new members of the NOC for the period of 2022-2026 are: Hryhoriy Surkis, Oleksandr Usyk, Andriy Shevchenko, Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk, Lilia Podkopaeva and others, as well as Nestor Shufrych.

After that, football player and coach Shevchenko said that he was leaving the NOC, as he did not agree with the new squad.

Later, the Executive Committee of the NOC accepted the resignation of Andriy Kozhemyakin, Hryhoriy Surkis and Nestor Shufrych.
