Biden at UN General Assembly vows to continue to support Ukraine

KYIV. Sept 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Washington and its allies will continue to stand with Ukraine as it defends its sovereignty after Russia’s armed invasion, U.S. President Joseph Biden has said on Tuesday.

“The United States together with the allies and partners around the world will continue to stand with the brave people of Ukraine as they defend their sovereignty, territorial integrity and their freedom,” he said addressing the UN General Assembly in New York.

He also said that “like every nation in the world, the United States wants this war to end” and “strongly supports Ukraine and its efforts to bring about a diplomatic resolution to deliver just and lasting peace.”

Biden also said that it is possible to achieve peace only if Russia changes its position regarding Ukraine.

“Russia alone bears responsibility for this war,” he said.
