By KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The bodies of the 51 killed Ukrainian defender managed to be repatriated to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War said on the Telegram channel on Friday.
“The transfer of the bodies took place thanks to the joint work of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Department of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Department for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the report says.
The headquarters reported that in just two years of work, it was possible to repatriate the bodies of 1,832 Ukrainian defenders, and the work on finding and returning the bodies of all fallen heroes will continue.
