Bulgaria to send special commission to Ukraine to assess damage – Ukraine's Minister of Culture

KYIV. Dec 29 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Bulgaria will send a special commission to Ukraine to assess the damage caused by Russia’s aggression and protect cultural heritage, Ukrainian Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko has said.

"There was a conversation with Bulgarian Minister of Culture Velislav Minekov about strengthening cultural cooperation between our countries. We agreed to send a special commission from Bulgaria to assess the destruction and protect cultural heritage to Ukraine, which will include the minister himself among specialists with extensive experience," Tkachenko wrote in his Telegram channel.

According to him, Bulgaria helps Ukraine in preserving the cultural heritage, in particular, it provided packaging materials for the transportation of art objects.

In addition, the parties discussed how to prevent the international traffic of art objects stolen by Russians in Ukraine.

"We also talked about providing power generators to our institutions for the winter and helping our artists based in Ukraine, promoting Ukrainian culture in Bulgaria and establishing close relations between our cultural institutions," Tkachenko wrote.
