Cabinet instructs depts to inform Defense Ministry about destroyed enemy equipment

KYIV. Dec 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has instructed ministries and other central and local executive authorities to immediately inform the Ministry of Defense about the nomenclature, volumes and location of samples of weapons, military and special equipment of the enemy destroyed and damaged during hostilities.

According to Order No. 1121 of December 9, the Government instructed the Ministry of Defense to organize the collection, transportation, storage and securing of samples of such military equipment for military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, its restoration for further use for its intended and functional purpose, the removal of suitable components and components that can be used for repair.

It is also instructed to transfer the occupiers’ equipment for use as museum items or for organizing exhibitions if it loses combat capability and cannot be used for its functional purpose. If its restoration is technically impossible or economically impractical, and there are no plans to use such samples as museum items and organize exhibitions, the Ministry of Defense should organize its processing in order to obtain scrap metal.

Local self-government bodies, heads of enterprises, institutions and organizations, regardless of the form of ownership, are recommended to ensure that the Ministry of Defense is informed about the nomenclature, volumes and location of samples of military equipment.
