By KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has terminated the activities of the Social Insurance Fund and merged it with the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reports.
"We continue social reform. Today, by a government decision, in pursuance of law, we are terminating the activities of the Social Insurance Fund and merging it with the Pension Fund of Ukraine," he said at a government meeting on Tuesday.
According to the prime minister, with this decision, the government makes the social support mechanism more efficient and effective, adapted to today’s realities, and also systematically reduces unnecessary government spending.
