KYIV. Dec 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the holding of a charity football match between Shakhtar (Donetsk) and the Japanese club Avispa Fukuoka.
“Today, a very special football match in Japan brought together thousands of Japanese and Ukrainian fans in support of Ukraine’s recovery. “Ukraine and Japan are separated by thousands of kilometers. But despite the distance, today players and fans from different continents are united in a sincere desire to do good. I am grateful to Japan, a country with a unique experience of reconstruction, Prime Minister Kishida and his government, as well as the Japanese parliament and the entire Japanese people for supporting Ukraine and our common cause,” Zelenskyy also said.
