Court satisfies claim of prosecutor's office against foreign airline for recovery of over UAH 2 mln of debt for flights over the Black Sea

KYIV. Dec 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The court has satisfied a claim of the prosecutor’s office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol against the foreign company Holiday Europe Ltd. for the recovery of more than UAH 2 million of debt for the services provided in the airspace of Ukraine, in particular over the Black Sea.

"The court satisfied the claim of the prosecutor’s office of the autonomy in the interests of the state against the foreign airline Holiday Europe Limited. The statement of claim concerns the recovery of debt for the air navigation services provided to the company in the airspace of Ukraine, in particular over the Black Sea. The total amount of debt is more than UAH 2 million," the prosecutor’s office said on Facebook on Thursday.

According to the report, the aircraft of a foreign airline flew in the airspace over the open waters of the Black Sea.

"However, the company did not pay the proper air navigation charges established in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine, the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organization and the rules of EUROCONTROL," the prosecutor’s office said.

The prosecutor’s office of Crimea explains: despite the lack of access to the territory and the lack of practice of representation activities under the conditions of occupation, the court satisfied the claims of the prosecutor’s office in this category of cases for more than UAH 6 million. The funds must be returned to the state budget.
