KYIV. Sept 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – On Friday, September 1, the Economic Court of Kyiv satisfied a claim of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine for the recovery of an advance payment and penalties in the total amount of UAH 456.66 million from a private company that dishonestly supplied food packages for military personnel.
“This time it is about a private company with which the Defense Ministry of Ukraine signed an agreement three weeks after the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation – on March 14, 2022, to provide for Kyiv garrison,” the press service of the ministry said on Saturday.
As a result of repeated violations of the terms of the contract by the company, in December 2022, the Defense Ministry filed a lawsuit against the supplier to recover an advance payment and penalties for a total of UAH 456.66 million, of which UAH 430 million is the contract amount, 26.66 million is a penalty.
On September 1, 2023, the Economic Court of Kyiv opened proceedings on case No. 910/13416/22, and also satisfied the request of the Defense Ministry to secure the claim, the defendant’s accounts were seized for the amount of the claims.
In February 2023, the court involved the Prosecutor General’s Office in the case.
In May 2023, the Defense Ministry and the prosecutor’s office decided to file a claim for recognition as invalid from the moment of the conclusion of a supplementary agreement to the contract with the unfair supplier.
The ministry’s claim against the company under the main contract will be considered on September 6.
