KYIV. Nov 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Defense Ministry of Ukraine, together with the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, transferred unmanned aerial vehicles to the Ukrainian army in a record time of three days, the press service of the Defense Ministry has said.
“The Defense Ministry, together with the General Staff and the State Service of Special Communications, transferred combat drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a record time – only three days passed from the moment the equipment was received from suppliers to the transfer to the AFU Logistics Forces. Previously, this process could take weeks or even months, since it requires numerous approvals in various departments,” the ministry said on Saturday.
The time for bureaucratic procedures was reduced due to effective cooperation of the Defense Ministry and other involved persons and institutions.
“As a result, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, together with the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine, signed an instruction – and equipment began to be shipped to the front the next day after receiving the order,” the ministry said.
The press service also said that the UAVs were purchased for budget funds. The package contains attack and reconnaissance types of drones.
“This package alone contains hundreds of drones,” it said.
