Embassy of Japan deeply outraged by missile attack on civilian Ukrainians, injury of Japanese journalist in Kyiv

KYIV. Jan 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Embassy of Japan in Ukraine expressed deep indignation at the massive Russian missile attack on the civilian population of Ukraine and the wounding of a Japanese journalist in Kyiv.

"The Embassy of Japan is deeply outraged by the repeated massive attack on the civilian population and civilian objects in Ukraine on New Year’s Eve, which led to the death and injury of civilians, in particular a Japanese journalist," the embassy said in a statement.

As Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported earlier today, a Japanese journalist was wounded in Pechersky district of the capital as a result of a missile attack by Russian invaders. He was hospitalized by doctors.

According to media reports, journalist Wataru Sekita works for the Assahi Shimbun.
