Enemy increases 'quantity, not quality' of combat clashes in Avdiyivka axis, drops around 30 bombs in past 24 hours – Shtupun

KYIV. Nov 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The enemy has increased “quantity, and not quality” of combat clashes in the Avdiyivka axis, the occupiers have been actively using guided bombs to attack Donetsk region for the third day in a row, Spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces Oleksandr Shtupun has said.

“The enemy has increased quantity, and not quality of combat clashes. Over the past 24 hours, most of them occurred to the south of Avdiyivka, if you look at the map. Also, for the third day in a row, the occupiers have been actively dropping guided bombs from Su-35 aircraft on Donetsk region and Avdiyivka. Yesterday alone the Russian terrorists dropped around 30 bombs,” he said on the air of the national telethon.

During the day, in the Avdiyivka direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 18 attempts of the Russian forces to advance, Shtupun said, adding that the enemy continues to involve criminals and Russian citizens without combat experience in assaults.

In the Maryinka direction, the enemy continues to pose pressure on the Ukrainian defense forces with the help of aviation. Over the past day, 24 attacks by invaders were recorded in the areas of Maryinka and Novomykhailivka.

“Usually, 15-20 attacks are recorded. The enemy has increased their number. But again, quantity, but not quality,” he said.

In the vicinity of Tokmak, the offensive continues, and the enemy is trying to counterattack.

“I cannot talk about the nuances now. The fighting continues. The enemy is also trying to counterattack. These are more, let’s say, some kind of diversionary attempts so that we cannot transfer some of our forces to other directions,” Shtupun said.
