Enemy shelling damage 18 schools, 7 hospitals, 708 houses in Kherson territorial community – local authorities

KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Some 401 private houses and 307 multi-apartment buildings in the territory of Kherson united territorial community were damaged by enemy shelling as of 08:00 on December 27, Kherson City Council has said on the Telegram channel on Tuesday.

According to its statement, 41 buildings of educational establishments (18 schools and preparatory high schools, eleven kindergartens, nine lyceums and vocational schools, one higher education establishment, one music school, and one children’s art center), as well as seven healthcare facilities and one library were damaged.

In addition, 33 infrastructure facilities (including 22 water supply and drainage facilities, six heating supply facilities, two road infrastructure objects, two power supply facilities, and one had supply facility) and 30 other non-residential buildings were damaged in the territory of Kherson united territorial community.

The construction materials for temporary repairs can be received at district councils on request of the owners of the damaged facilities. If the owner is unable to carry out repairs, assistance will be provided by efforts of municipal enterprises.

Kherson united territorial community includes the city of Kherson, as well as the nearest towns of Antonivka, Zelenivka, Komyshany, and Naddniprianske, as well as villages and smaller settlements. The population of the community in 2020 was 322,500 people.
