KYIV. Sept 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Council decided today to prolong the restrictive measures targeting those responsible for undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine for another six months, until 15 March 2024.
As reported on the website of the EU Council, the existing restrictive measures include restrictions on the travel of individuals, freezing of assets and a ban on the provision of funds or other economic resources to individuals and legal entities on the list.
“Sanctions will continue to apply to almost 1 800 individuals and entities altogether, many of which are targeted in response to Russia’s ongoing unjustified and unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine,” the message reads.
At the same time, it is reported that in the context of the review of sanctions, the Council decided not to extend them in respect of four persons whose names are not specified.
“The EU will continue to provide strong financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support to Ukraine and its people for as long as it takes,” the EU said.
