KYIV. Oct 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Commission (EC) announced on Monday the allocation of EUR 100 million for further support of seven EU member states hosting many refugees from Ukraine.
“Member States can use these funds to continue offering immediate assistance to refugees, such as food, transport and temporary accommodation. These funds can also support their capacity to integrate refugees, including the vulnerable ones, such as unaccompanied minors,” the EC communique published in Brussels says.
This decision was made within the framework of the EUR 400 million assistance package provided by the EC for such purposes. The first tranche of EUR 248 million in emergency aid was allocated to five EU states in May: Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
This second tranche is intended for Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Estonia.
