By KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine and France continue to conduct a productive dialogue on the restoration of the country, in particular, in matters of risk insurance, humanitarian demining, export support, and the development of agro-processing.
This was discussed during a meeting of First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko with Minister of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France Bruno Le Maire.
According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the French minister confirmed that France would support Ukraine, no matter how the geopolitical situation in the world changes, since the future of Europe is now being defended in Ukraine.
Svyrydenko noted that war risk insurance would allow French investors to enter Ukraine and join reconstruction projects.
The French state insurance company Bpifrance Assurance Export has already announced that it will insure French companies that are ready to invest in Ukraine without waiting for the end of the war. Already now there are the first French enterprises that are ready to receive these guarantees in order to expand their enterprises in Ukraine. The parties also discussed the possibility of insuring Ukrainian investors creating joint companies with French businesses, the Ministry of Economy emphasized.
“French companies are ready to localize their facilities in Ukraine and produce their equipment at our factories. I am convinced that thanks to joint work, this interest will only grow,” Svyrydenko said.
It was also noted at the meeting that French business is interested in investing in strategically important sectors of Ukraine, in particular in defense, production and processing of agricultural products, renewable energy, gas production and storage, green metallurgy, environmental transport, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
