Govt decides to facilitate construction of overhead power lines, substations by abolishing requirement to assess environmental impact – PM

KYIV. Dec 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to facilitate the construction of overhead power lines and substations by abolishing the requirement to carry out the environmental impact assessment procedure for such facilities, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has said.

"In order to restore the energy system faster, we are making the decision to facilitate the construction of overhead power lines and substations. We are abolishing the requirement to carry out the environmental impact assessment procedure for such facilities in wartime," he said at a meeting of the government on Tuesday.

According to the prime minister, this step is justified by the extreme conditions of the full-scale war.
