KYIV. Dec 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal says that the government sees Ukraine in 2030 as a state where innovation is the basis of the economy and national security, the press service of the Ukrainian government reported on Thursday.
“Innovation has a clear practical significance. In defense, this means more enemies destroyed and more liberated territories. In social policy, this means effective rehabilitation of the wounded: both military and civilian. In mine clearance, this means rapid neutralization of Russian mine debris, the return of territories to agricultural production. In in the public services sector, this is the absence of bureaucracy and corruption, any service is just a few clicks away. In education, it is about preparing children for the realities of a changing world, where they can constantly improve and achieve success. In the end, an innovative society means a high quality of life for everyone,” Shmyhal said following the presentation of the Global Innovation Vision of Ukraine.
The Prime Minister noted that the government sees Ukraine in 2030 as a state where innovation is the basis of the economy and national security, and now an innovative development strategy is being laid for this. “It is based on three principles. The first is the development of the Ukrainian innovation ecosystem. It is about creating conditions for the free generation and circulation of ideas. It is about supporting research institutions, innovative start-ups and technology companies. The second is a multifaceted government policy to support innovation, from deregulation to national programmes. The third is to stimulate innovation and the development of technologies that solve pressing problems of the present and the future,” the Head of Government said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government has already developed a number of draft regulations to support innovation activities in Ukraine.
