Govt to allocate UAH 48 bln for Army of Drones in 2024 – Shmyhal

KYIV. Sept 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has announced that around UAH 48 billion will be allocated for the Army of Drones in 2024 and another UAH 48 billion for the production of weapons and ammunition.

“Our production is focused on drones. The Ukrainian Army of Drones has been launched in full, it is working, and it was financed by the government for UAH 40 billion this year. We will continue this financing,” he said at a press conference on Friday.

The prime minister also stressed that the country will finance the production of ammunition, equipment, armored vehicles, and the missile program of Ukraine.

Shmyhal said that these costs will be covered at the expense of the personal income tax.

According to him, the amount of personal income tax is around UAH 96 billion and it will be distributed for the defense needs, in particular, approximately a half of this amount will be spent on the production of Ukrainian weapons, equipment and ammunition, while the other part – on the Army of Drones.
